What started out as a small web site that only listed cars and coffee events has grown into the largest database of events for auto, bike, truck and Jeep enthusiasts on the web. Looking to the next chapter, our goal is to resume driverless operations. As we continue working to rebuild trust and determine the city where we will scale driverless, we also remain focused on continuing to improve our performance and overall safety approach. To that end, Cruise is resuming manual driving to create maps and gather road information in select cities, starting in Phoenix. This work is done using human-driven vehicles without autonomous systems engaged, and is a critical step for validating our self-driving systems as we work towards returning to our driverless mission.

The first events in Redding’s huge spring festival, the Kool April Nites classic car show, will drive out this week. We have some large events posted in the magazine that are for profit, and we appreciate that they do spend money to help support the publication. Well over 95% of the listings are for smaller events that help out church missions, pet rescues, cancer research and even scholarships. Over the 15 years of doing this, millions and millions of dollars have been collected and donated to a charity from show promoters.
